Isabel Vera has begun the fall semester as a junior marketing major and visual communication design minor at St. Mary’s University. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Phi Eta Sigma. She has been awarded the Bordeaux , J&M Jones, and Robert S. Rosow Scholarship for this upcoming year. Her interest in a business degree was influenced at an early age by her parents who ran their own automotive mechanic shop. But Vera has always had a passion for helping animals. Throughout her life, she has wanted to help animals- even considering becoming a veterinarian.
After completing a yearlong senior seminar research project in high school about the stray animal overpopulation in San Antonio as well as volunteering regularly at local no-kill shelters. She ultimately decided to dedicate her life to helping animals not only in San Antonio but in the United States and around the world. She would like to own non-profit and for profit businesses that help companion animals as well as exotic animals. Her life goal is to run and operate an animal sanctuary that would rehabilitate and shelter animals from all backgrounds. Vera is currently running a makeup blog and does freelance makeup on the side. She lives in San Antonio, Texas.
